STARK PCB Services
STARK provides the following PCB services:
1) Transformer Reclassification Projects:
Reclassification of a PCB transformer occurs when the PCB concentration in the transformer dielectric fluid is permanently reduced to less than 50 ppm. When the PCB transformer in question has a viable life expectancy, re-classifying the status of the transformer can be cost-effective. The STARK PCB Reclassification Process complies with federal and provincial regulations as outlined in the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment publication “PCB Transformer Decontamination Standards and Protocols”.
2) Pick-up and Disposal of PCB Oil:
STARK can dispose of your PCB-contaminated oil. PCB-contaminated oil less than 50 ppm is transported to our licensed facility where the oil is processed until PCB concentration is removed and it can be reclassified as PCB free. STARK handle PCB-contaminated oil over 500 ppm and make disposal arrangements with appropriate PCB facilities.
3) Out-of-Service Transformer Disposal Containing PCB Oil:
STARK will pick up and dispose of out-of-service transformers that are either filled with, or have been exposed to, oil with greater than 50 ppm of PCB. STARK uses a regulatory-approved process for both decontamination and disposal of all components parts of the transformer.
